Toon Studio Placemaking

Completed in 2007, the Toon Studio Placemaking project aimed to improve the original Animation Courtyard area between Art of Disney Animation and Animagique. Though larger-scale plans for fountains, additional planters and animation-themed props fell to one side, the works did see a new patterned flooring laid, buildings repainted to blue, Peter Pan statues added to the Sorcerer’s Hat and a brand new entrance area including the Sorcerer Mickey marquee and tall box trees.

More gaps filled at Walt Disney Studios

Tuesday, 31st July 2007 0

Missing items at Walt Disney Studios Park are being corrected at an exciting pace this year. Need an attraction with a morning “crush” to rival Big Thunder Mountain? Check. Need a ride for kids as popular as those in Fantasyland? Check. Need a big E-Ticket to get the crowds pouring? Almost-check. But what about a higher class restaurant, and a boutique in Toon Studio? They’ve begun filling those gaps too…

Toon Studio Press Event: Animated Publicity

Thursday, 21st June 2007 1

One of the most important aspects of a press event at Disneyland Resort Paris is the material the resort gives to its invited press and journalists. If they produce good quality work, they’re more likely to be given a mention in various media across Europe. With that in mind, we’re looking at the final fruits of the press event – the full set of publicity photos – and you can tell us how well they did…

Toon Studio Press Event: Under the spell of darkness

Thursday, 21st June 2007 0

Chances to see Walt Disney Studios Park in darkness are usually restricted to the cold Winter months, when the limited sun sets in the afternoon and guests are treated to the park at its very best, illuminated by colourful studio lighting from all angles. Luckily, we don’t have to wait until October to be the first to see Toon Studio under the magical spell of darkness…

Another year, another flashy attraction ‘inauguration’ ceremony… times at Disneyland Resort Paris have certainly changed! Whilst Tower of Terror may have loomed ahead with its size and stature, it was always the “Toons” project that seemed the most interesting from the 2005 announcement. Over two years on, it’s here, it’s complete, and it’s time to experience the grand opening…

They flew! And just in time, too. With little more than three weeks to go until the official opening of Toon Studio, the golden figures of Peter Pan, Wendy and Tinkerbell have finally soared across the Atlantic to Paris, and have taken up residence around the Sorcerer’s Hat of Art of Disney Animation. It’s a new home for the retired Happiest Celebration decorations and another important touch of character for the new studio.
