A “trackless” dark ride based on Pixar’s Ratatouille will open in Toon Studio at Walt Disney Studios Park in 2014 or later. The project has a rumoured title Ratatouille Kitchen Calamity!, or Ratatouille: Désastre du Cuisine in French
Using “LPS” Local Positioning positioning technology from Pooh’s Hunny Hunt at Tokyo Disneyland, along with state-of-the-art 3D projection technology, the ride could see guests following Remy in a chase through the kitchens. An adjoining restaurant and shop are also rumoured. Plans show a new building at the back of the land, next to the existing Imaginations costuming building which would be incorporated into the construction to form a new Parisian courtyard around a roaring fountain!
Tree clearance was completed in January 2012. The attraction has not yet been officially announced by Euro Disney S.C.A., the resort’s operating group.
