The old Critter Corral farm has been turned into a new character meet ‘n’ greet area primarily for the western characters from the Pixar film ‘Toy Story’. More at DLRP Magic!.com…
Last update, the festivities of Mickey’s Magical Party had scarcely begun. Buffalo Bill entertained the masses without a mouse, the nearest Starbucks was over at Val d’Europe and the name of this place we love was Disneyland Resort Paris. So… did we miss anything?
The new Woody’s Roundup Village has been given extra props and new details to expand its toy cowboy theme. The area on the far side of Frontierland, previously the Critter Corral animal farm, had only a minimal overlay when it first opened at the start of the Halloween festival.
Woody’s Roundup has pulled on its cowboy boots and opened for business already, this past weekend! Greeting guests months earlier than expected, the area now functions as both a Halloween makeover workshop and meet ‘n’ greet with the “Roundup Gang” — Woody and Jessie — themselves.
You’ve no doubt seen the construction for ‘Woody’s Roundup Village‘ in Frontierland, read the rumours of a rustic reindeer ranch theme for Christmas and noticed that Goofy will be taking over Father Christmas’ Town Square spot this year… but no official word on the project has yet been given, until today.
Critter Corral is changing fast. The former children’s farm in the sleepy backwaters of Frontierland recently began to receive some brand new wooden buildings, which have now taken on a more “Rootin’ Tootin’” appearance and some impressive roofspans for the future Woody’s Roundup.
As word continues to spread about the future of Critter Corral and the Cottonwood Creek Ranch area of Frontierland, maybe we should mark the final few months when this corner of the Western landscape presents “life on the ranch” as you’d expect it in plain reality — painfully quiet. Clues and surprises for the future can be found behind the famous green construction fences themselves…
They will… they won’t… they did! The River Rogue Keelboats finally reopened to the public this weekend after spending more than seven years out of service. Now that’s magic. But, as the park crosses another box on its Frontierland “to do list”, it appears they’re already hard at work on the next project for the Far West… and this one might not be a simple re-opening.
